3. SOUNDBITE (English) Danny Danon, Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Israel:
“For 500 days, we prayed, we thought, and we hoped to bring our Oded Lifshitz, Shiri Bibas, Ariel Bibas and Kfir Bibas back home. Now we know the truth. Hamas didn't just murder them. They slaughtered them in the most deprived way imaginable. They didn't shoot Kfir, they didn't shoot Ariel. They killed them with their bare hands. These monsters looked into the eyes of a nine-month-old baby and his four-year-old brother and strangled, beat, twisted and shattered them with their hands. One would imagine that there is nothing more sickening than this atrocity. Somehow there is. To hide their crime, they mutilated their tiny bodies to make it seem as though they died in an airstrike. This is who Hamas is – monsters who take pleasure in murdering babies.”

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Danny Danon, Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Israel:
“When Hamas took babies as trophies for terror, these halls stood in silence, the UN has held countless emergency meetings on Israel. It has passed endless resolutions, but when terrorist massacred a baby and a child and then mutilated them, the UN has no resolutions to offer, no outrage, no action.”

7. SOUNDBITE (English) Danny Danon, Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Israel:
“So, we have seen the horrible parades, and it's not part of the framework we agreed upon. We want to make sure that it will not continue. So yes, we are delaying the release of the terrorists that were supposed to be released, and we want to make sure that they in the future, and we have more health studies that should come home in the near future, we want to make sure that we will not see those parades again.”

9. SOUNDBITE (English) Danny Danon, Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Israel:
“When we look at the outages coming back, when you look at those faces, we're talking about Muslims like Hisham, like you mentioned. We're talking about the Mengistu family, Ethiopian family in Israel that was also in a very bad shape, unfortunately. And we demand justice for all of them to come back. The UN should pass a resolution condemning Hamas. Since October 7 it never happened.”

Storyline

Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon condemned Hamas for the deaths of Oded Lifshitz, Shiri Bibas, and her two children, Ariel and Kfir. “For 500 days, we prayed, we thought, and we hoped to bring our Oded Lifshitz, Shiri Bibas, Ariel Bibas, and Kfir Bibas back home,” Danon said. “Now we know the truth. Hamas didn't just murder them. They slaughtered them in the most deprived way imaginable.”

Danon accused Hamas of killing the nine-month-old and four-year-old children “with their bare hands.” He alleged that the group then mutilated their bodies to make it appear as though they had died in an airstrike. “This is who Hamas is—monsters who take pleasure in murdering babies,” he said.
Danon expressed concern over what he characterized as an insufficient response from the United Nations. “When Hamas took babies as trophies for terror, these halls stood in silence,” he said. “The UN has held countless emergency meetings on Israel. It has passed endless resolutions, but when terrorists massacred a baby and a child and then mutilated them, the UN has no resolutions to offer, no outrage, no action.”

Danon also addressed the status of hostage exchanges, saying Israel had delayed the release of prisoners in response to what he called “horrible parades.” “We want to make sure that we will not see those parades again,” he said.

Calling for broader international condemnation of Hamas, Danon noted that the UN has yet to pass a resolution specifically condemning the group since the October 7 attacks. “We demand justice for all of them to come back,” he said, mentioning other hostages.
