Karama is a network of civil society groups and activists in thirteen countries across Africa and the Middle East. The organisation provides an international platform for women to share skills and knowledge, with the aim of ending all types of violence against women in Africa and the Middle East. They seek to address both the root causes and consequences of violence against women through political, legal and civil activism. Karama takes a "ground-up" approach, with leadership coming from within local communities. The organisation champions local expertise, elevating activists working at community level to inform national policies, regional dialogues and international advocacy.
