4. SOUNDBITE (English) Gilbert F. Houngo, Director-General, International Labour Organization (ILO):
“In barely more than a year, we have now about 350 partners from every region and that have accepted for us to join forces, reflecting a shared urgency to advance social justice in a rapidly changing world. In a world that is more uncertain.”

6. SOUNDBITE (English) Gilbert F. Houngo, Director-General, International Labour Organization (ILO):
“We simply cannot allow social justice to become a mere slogan. Likewise, we must never allow ourselves to fall into the trap of believing that we at the ILO can or even should try to achieve social justice alone. Social justice includes and extends beyond the world of work, and it takes all of us. It
should bring out the best that our multilateral institutions and actors have to share.”

8. SOUNDBITE (Spanish) Luis Abinader, President, Dominican Republic:
“Today more than ever, we must recognize that work is not simply a means of subsistence. Work is identity, it is dignity, it is the bridge between individual effort and collective development. That is why defending the right to work is a defence of the very soul of our democracy. Our commitment as a government is clear: social justice cannot be an abstract promise. It must be a concrete, measurable, and transformative policy — one that is reflected in wages that allow people to live with dignity, which translates into working conditions that respect health, safety, and work–life balance.”
