Storyline

The World Health Organization (WHO) is rapidly scaling efforts to expand health services in Gaza City. On Tuesday (14 Oct), WHO delivered three trucks of surgical and essential medical supplies to the central pharmacy. The supplies will be transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital and will cover the needs of 10,000 people. Thanks to the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) for the ongoing support.

An international emergency medical team was deployed to boost orthopaedic surgery and trauma care capacity. WHO is also supporting in setting up two new operating theatres and planning to add 120 more inpatient beds.

WHO calls for sustained access and donor support to continue scaling up health sector rehabilitation.
