16. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Ali Faraj, Father of patients Noor and Yaha Faraj
“The children are still suffering from health and psychological conditions, but the psychological part is the most difficult, especially with Nour, as she shifted from a girl who loves to play run around, and have fun to a girl who lost her legs, and basically to the point where she needs to be carried around , she feels ashamed and is ashamed that people see her in this state.”

I mean it's holding the nerve, holding the veins, and holding every part of her. Of course, she used to get fevers, and she had more than one surgery. I sent her outside Gaza more than once. She had three surgeries and one of these surgeries was done by foreign doctors. And this time during the war, of course, we couldn't leave because of the war.”
21. Various shots, Sara and her mother Nasreen sitting on the floor talking, holding hands.

“There are no specialized doctors, also some of the treatments were not available. She also suffered from malnutrition; in some cases, we were unable to provide her with food, as she is not allowed to eat some kinds of canned food. No matter how hard we tried to provide her with even bread as a meal, sometimes we were unable to provide her with a full meal of bread only.”

24. Med shot, Sara looking at her mother.
25. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Nasreen Badra, Mother of patient Sara Badra:
“The feeling was a wonderful feeling. I mean, I was very happy that we are going to a country that cares about her treatment or her needs, and treats her as a human being who needs treatment, medication, a life, needs to study and have education. She needs many things that I am not able to provide for her in this country.”

28. SOUNDBITE (English) Dario Bertetto, Health Emergency Officer, WHO oPt
“Today, 55 patients together with their companions, will travel through Kerem Shalom crossing, and they will eventually reach UK, Spain, Turkey and Jordan. These numbers are just part of the huge amount of patients who need to be treated aboard and are in desperate need of medical care.”
29. Various shots, the medical evacuation convoy departing towards the Kerem Shalom crossing.
The World Health Organization (WHO) led another medical evacuation of 55 critical patients from Gaza to receive specialised care abroad, including in Jordan, Spain and Turkey. 158 companions travelled with them.
WHO thanks the government of Jordan and the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) for the support.
As part of the medical evacuations, WHO in oPt secures medical care in receiving countries; manages security clearance and needed documentation of patients; transfers patients inside Gaza; arranges patient's overnight stay at a field hospital, if needed; provides food and medical care throughout the journey; moves patients outside Gaza to Jordan.
Over 16,500 patients still need to get out of Gaza to receive lifesaving treatment.
WHO continues to call on countries to show their solidarity and accept more patients from Gaza and for all routes to be opened for medical evacuation, particularly the West Bank including East Jerusalem referral pathway. We have no time to lose!
