Storyline

“In a few days, the list will be displayed in 10,818 voting polls” Y. J. Choi, the head of ONUCI announced during a ceremony after receiving a sample of the provisional voters list ahead of the presidential election.

The United Nations Peacekeeping Operation in Cote d’Ivoire (ONUCI) is expected to carry all hardcopies of the provisional list across the country. More than 30 vehicles, UN aircraft and boats are being prepared for the operation.

More than 6 million people were registered for the election, but the list couldn’t be displayed after about two million people because they couldn’t be traced on the historical data base, triggering suspicion of fraud amongst political leaders.

Voters have a one month delay to express complaints or corrections about this list. After that period, voter’s cards will be issued and the actual political campaign will be launched for two weeks.

The presidential election was scheduled for 29 November 2009,but is expected to be postponed.
