1. SOUNDBITE (French) Alain Le Roy, Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, United Nations:
“I have requested to the Congolese Government and to the Security Council that they have decided to proceed to a revision and a reconfiguration of MONUC (UN Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo). MONUC’s current mandate expires on the 30th of May 2010 and the resolution for this revision allows explicitly the progressive reconfiguration of MONUC, and that’s why we have sent here from NY a team called Technique Evaluation Team.”
