Dr. John Garang Unified Police training center opened on January 6th 2010 with the aim to directly cater and train young and capable Southern Sudanese undergrad, collage and university graduates, filling a gap created by those who are ready to retire.
The primary objective of the new graduates will be referendum security, over and above maintaining law and order. Addressing the graduates, Lt. General Gier Chuang Aluong, Minister of Internal Affairs told graduates to remember the vision and value of South Sudan Police Service (SSPS).
