In Juba the capital of the South Sudan there were no official celebrations, but hundreds of people took to the streets to protest against the violence that had engulfed parts of the country since it became an independent state.
The peaceful procession was organized by a newly formed organization, ‘Concern Citizens-X’, under the theme “End Tribal Violence”.
Ayoum Wol Dhal is the spokesperson of the organization, he urged citizens from across the country to observe the day by wearing white T-Shirts or armbands as a symbol to end violence in their nation.
