All three babies born today were girls and by the end of the day officials at the clinic expect a fourth one.

Chief Medical Officer at the Clinic, Colonel Phok Chanthy said that they have assisted in the births of a lot of children since the conflict began and the IDP camp was created in the compound.

“So far we have thirty one, thirty one babies that live in Cambodian Level II Hospital. Thirty one.”

The Clinic has been treating serious injury cases since the conflict began over a week ago.

With the number of displaced in the UNMISS camps in tens of thousands, many more babies are likely be born here before the conflict ends and people are able to return to their homes.
