UNDP Weaving Project - Bali
The role and participation of women in development is crucial to society. We want every project and programme now to deal with women, says Ms. Eide. In Bali, the hand-weaving of fine cotton fabrics, traditionally done by old women of the villages, was fast disappearing but not anymore. Thanks to the UNDP project, the women of the village of Sudang are getting a new economic opportunity.
