Survival Of The Forests
More than half of the world's tropical forests have disappeared since the turn of the century. Trees serve mankind's basic needs - food, fuel, shelter. The UN Postal Administration concerned over the rapid destruction of our forests has issued a Survival of the Forests stamp series which will bring the message home all around the world. It is man who has destroyed the forests and it is man who must protect the forests for our own survival.
