In industrial countries, public concern about the world energy crisis has diminished, as coal, oil and natural gas prices declined in the 1980s. In developing countries, the situation is totally different - the increasing population and the lack of financial resources have left millions of people relying on traditional sources of energy, such as fuelwood.
