40th Anniversary Of The Universal Declaration Of Human Rights
December 10, 1988 marks the 40th Anniversary of the adoption by the UN General Assembly of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. A world tour of internationally popular artists, - including Sting and Bruce Springsteen - organised by Amnesty International, introduced the historic declaration to a new generation. In the struggle for human rights everywhere, the declaration represents the 'Magna Carta' of basic rights and freedom.
