Iaea Inspectors Ensure The Peaceful Use Of Nuclear Energy
In 1990 an international conference will review the Treaty on Non-Proliferation, the most widely supported arms control agreement in existence. Some 200 inspectors employed by the International Atomic Energy Agency or IAEA check 900 civilian nuclear reactors every year. They perform a vital function under the non-proliferation and other treaties by ensuring that radioactive material is not diverted to military uses.
