Environmental issues were taken up by the UN General Assembly during its 44th session. High on the list was global climate change or global warming which would be the subject of a conference in Brazil in 1992. It is hoped that a convention embodying measures to prevent further warming on the Earth's atmosphere would be adopted during this international gathering.
