Thailand's Spirited Campaign Against AIDS
In Thailand, although only 41 cases of full blown AIDS have been reported so far, the Government, with help from the UNDP and WHO, has launched a massive campaign to educate the public against the AIDS epidemic. Voluntary groups are playing an important role in reaching at-risk groups especially bar workers and drug users. The Government action has been praised as a model policy which other Asian nations could emulate.
