Description
Global warming is the most serious environmental problem facing humankind. This is the verdict of scientists and government leaders who assembled in Geneva in November for the second climate conference. Most countries are taking important steps such as slowing down greenhouse gas emissions, the main culprit of global warming. Negotiations for a climate convention will begin in 1991 in the hope that a treaty could be ready for submission to the UN Conference on Environment and Development taking place in Brazil in 1992.
