U.N. Election Monitors Deploy In South Africa

U.N. Election Monitors Deploy In South Africa

11 April 1994

For the first time in the history of South Africa some 23 million people will be casting their ballots to choose the nation's government. Many of these voters are young blacks who struggled against the white regime under the apartheid system. Some 1800 UN observers will be there to monitor the process on election day later in April 1994.
