The UN Helps Torture Victims Recover From Their Private Hell
Huseyin Duygu is recovering from a year's stay in prison where he was repeatedly tortured. He is benefitting from help provided by the Torture Rehabilitation Centre in Denmark, one of several centres supported by UN voluntary fund. At the start of commemorative activities on the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations is highlighting efforts to combat grave violations of human rights such as torture.
