The International Criminal Tribunal For The Former Yugoslavia
During the conflict in the Balkans many atrocities occurred which violated international humanitarian law. The ad hoc International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia was set up to try perpetrators of these crimes. Some defendants have already been tried and convicted. The experience gained by this ad hoc court would be valuable when a permanent international criminal court is finally established.
