Community Radio Helps Residents And The Environment In Trinidad

With assistance from UNESCO and UNDP, Radio Toco, a small radio station in Trinidad and Tobago, reaches communities in the remote northeastern part of the country. Radio Toco provides its audience with an educational alternative to commercial radio stations. Programming includes topics such as HIV prevention, consumer protection and entrepreneurial information. The station also serves as a training ground for young people interested in careers in broadcast journalism.
