Description
Operation Lifeline Sudan provides food and emergency supplies to Sudanese displaced by more than 30-years of civil war. Those mostly affected live in the southern part of the country. The World Food Programme, UNICEF and other aid agencies work together to provide special therapeutic care and supplementary feeding centres for women and children. Sudanese receive training to acquire skills such as fishing, cattle and livestock rearing to provide food for their families. Unless politicians settle their differences, the people of southern Sudan will continue to depend on humanitarian assistance.
