UN Helps Create Jobs In Armenia

An earthquake and the collapse of the Soviet Union in the late 80's followed by a war with Azerbaijan and an economic blockade left Armenia with a terrible legacy. Thirty thousand lives were lost in the quake. Unemployment hovers at 80 percent, and most of the population still lives in temporary housing. But slowly, Armenians are starting small businesses with aid from the United Nations Development Programme
