UN's Radio Okapi: The Voice Of The DRC
Named after a giraffe-like mammal that inhabits the tropical forests of the DRC, Radio Okapi is providing more than news, documentaries and entertainment to its listeners. Set up by the UN’s Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the Hirondelle Foundation, a Swiss NGO, this radio network of ten stations, broadcasts in five languages, and provides an independent voice that is bringing a war-torn country together.
