Building A Model Biomass Project In Rural China

A biomass plant is being built in northeast China to demonstrate the potential of agricultural residues, such as cornstalks, as a viable alternative energy source for rural development. This UNDP project is conceived as part of its ongoing efforts to combat global warming and air pollution. It showcases the technological and commercial viability of a modern biomass gasification system that simultaneously produces cooking gas, heat and electricity in village communities in China.
