Serbs Return To Kosovo
When the conflict in Kosovo began in 1999 many Serbs fled the country. The UN Mission in Kosovo, UNMIK, has been working to return internally displaced people, IDPs, back to their homes. Many of the homes were destroyed but they are being rebuilt with help from international organizations. The returns process will continue in the spring of 2003 as UNMIK faces the challenge of bringing Serbs and other IDPs back to their homeland.
