UN Helps To Protect Patagonia Wildlife

Argentina’s southern coast of Patagonia, a treasure trove of wildlife, has recently also enjoyed a boom in commercial fishing, oil production, and tourism. A consortium of UN agencies under the aegis of the Global Environment Facility is supporting Fundacion Patagonia Natural, a non-government organization, to protect the region’s biodiversity. The NGO’s goal is to balance environment management with economic recovery.
