UN Assists Uganda AIDS Orphans

Uganda is one of the countries in Africa affected by HIV/AIDS with over one million AIDS orphans. With 30 percent of the adult population affected with HIV in some countries, young people throughout Africa face an uncertain future. The Joint UN Programme on HIV/AIDS has issued a report which highlights the unprecedented devastation the disease is causing in African societies. Local support groups provide advice and counselling to young families trying to survive without their parents.
