Exploring the Positive Impacts and Influences of Digital Technology on Gender-Based Violence Work (CSW67 Side Event)
Broadcasting UN Entity
Gender-based violence has a global impact. Living a life free from violence is a fundamental human right, but gender‑based violence continues to be a significant barrier to achieving gender equality around the world. Governments and NGOs have been working towards safer homes and communities for many years, and while great progress has been made, more needs to be done to understand the limitations and opportunities of digital technologies in this space.
This side event will highlight Canada's National Action Plan to End Gender Based Violence and explore ways that digital technology can aid or hinder gender-based violence work, and how we can learn from global practices to address gender-based violence both at home and abroad.
