Description

The President of the General Assembly, Abdulla Shahid, is in Kigali today. He took part in the official opening of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting

From Rwanda, President Shahid heads to Lisbon for the Ocean Conference. He will address the opening on Monday. He is expected to urge greater global cooperation toward the achievement of SDG 14 on life below water.

Today is the first-ever International Day of Women in Diplomacy. In his message for the Day, President Shahid urged the international community to facilitate women taking on leadership roles.

On 30 June and 1 July will be the High-level meeting of the General Assembly on Global Road Safety.
