WHO Director General speaks about his recent visit to Afghanistan

Speaking on his recent visit to hospitals in Afghanistan, WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that if critical funding is not received by major donors, the country faces an imminent humanitarian catastrophe.

He urges the lifting of the pause on funding for the Sehatmandi project, which forms "the backbone of Afghanistan's health system, providing care for millions of people through 2,300 health facilities, including in remote areas."
