Summary
In August 2022, the first edition of the International Habitat Summit – Latin America and the Caribbean (in Spanish: "Cumbre Internacional del Hábitat de América Latina y el Caribe, CIHALC") was organized at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, with a common objective: to start from the recognition of regional identities, from the strengths, problems and differences of their cities and territories, to promote and consolidate "New Shared Agendas" for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Description
Note: there was a technical issue with the camera at the beginning of the meeting. However the audio was not affected.
The CIHALC was created to accompany the implementation - at local and regional level - of the New Urban Agenda (UN-HABITAT), and in follow-up to the Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (UN).
The general theme of its second edition is "Challenges of Coexistence – New Alliances for a Shared Habitat" and will take place in the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, from August 28th to 30th, 2023.
