The International Law Commission will commence its 70th session on Monday here in New York. This is a historic session both because it is the 70th, and also because it is the first time since 1998 that the ILC has met in New York. There are a number of commemorative events planned, the high level of which will take place on Monday 21 May in the Trusteeship Council.
