Description
Concept Note:
The United States views nuclear energy as one of the valuable tools to combat climate change. The Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) has long enabled States to benefit from the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, science, and technology in a safe, secure, and safeguarded manner. We are now at a juncture where we see the potential for rapid deployment of nuclear energy around the world, and it is critical that States continue their nonproliferation undertaking to ensure nuclear energy is advanced in conformity with the nonproliferation regime.
