Description

With less than 10 years to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and a 45% reduction of global emissions the race is on for mobilizing action. Young people are advancing solutions and demanding accountability from world leaders and non-State actors and their active involvement in building a low emission, high resilience world is now more important than ever. Hosted by the Deputy-Secretary-General and co-designed by global youth leaders, SDG Youth Climate Roundtable was convened to celebrate the 2022 World Environment Day with the theme - Only One Earth. The discussion also focused on

  • The need for intergenerational and intersectional collaboration to accelerate climate ambition
  • Mobilizing youth movement to advance call for just and green transition
  • Highlighting the need to invest in and promote green jobs as solutions towards multidimensional crises (economic crisis & climate crisis)
