Summary
Given the critical role that young people have in the conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development, this session will provide a unique platform for youth to showcase ideas, recommendations, innovations, youth-led solutions and actions, to "Save our ocean, Protect our future".
Description
It will also contribute to raising awareness among youth of the 2022 United Nations Ocean Conference in late June and the review of SDG 14 at 2022 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), the implementation of the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, as well as other related processes.
The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum will be held on 19 and 20 April 2022. The two-day event will feature plenary sessions, interactive thematic and regionally based discussions. Young people are encouraged to share best practices, lessons learned, solutions as well as creative and innovative ideas with Member States, other youth and stakeholders on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and also on the sustainable development goals under review in the Economic and Social Council and the High-level Political Forum in 2022.
