Description

The Second Session of the Conference on the establishment of Middle East zone free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction takes place on 29 November – 3 December 2021 at the UN Headquarter in New York. In accordance with General Assembly decision 73/546, the conference aims to elaborate a legally binding treaty establishing a Middle East zone free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, on the basis of arrangements freely arrived at by the States of the region. This is the second session of the conference to be held annually until it concludes the elaboration of a legally binding treaty of such a zone.
