Part III: Jean Pierre Lacroix et La Montée en puissance des forces régionales 

The day starts with a commemorative session dedicated to former UN Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali, who gave his name to the Observatory, as November 14th 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of his birth (from 9 am to 11am). The rest of the day is dedicated to a seminar gathering top UN figures (including DSG Jean Pierre Lacroix, MILAD Birame Diop), diplomatic actors (UN, Morocco), and academic specialists (GRIP, ISS, Georgetown University). It is structured in 3 sessions organised as follows:

11:30 – 13:00 = Session 1 - Panel discussion 1 "UN leadership in the face of complex crises"

14h- 16:00 = Session 2 – Keynote Speech by DSG Jean Pierre Lacroix « Future Perspectives: UN Peacekeeping and regional organisations » ; followed by Panel discussion 2 " the rise of regional forces"

16:30 – 18h = Session 3 – Panel discussion 3 "challenges and needs of special political missions".
