Side Event on the margins of the Second United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week organized by the UN Office on Counter-Terrorism.

Co-hosted by the European Commission and the United Nations Development Programme, this session will bring together an expert panel to discuss the main opportunities and challenges of enhancing prevention of violent extremism efforts through the use of online data and tools. The panel will present concrete experiences, discuss how civil society actors and community stakeholders can make better use of such tools and how to overcome emerging challenges, including capacity gaps and ethical and protection concerns of online data collection and usage.
