Summary
The High-Level Ocean Decade Alliance Event at the 2022 UN Ocean Conference will be the first in-person meeting of Alliance Patrons and members.
Description

This event will provide a platform for commitments and announcements by Alliance members. It will launch a joint Call to Action for investment in ocean science by members of the Alliance, and a publication on the links between the Ocean Decade and the 2030 Agenda that is being supported by Portugal. It will provide a platform for the presentation of the aspirations and plans of the Ocean Decade Alliance and allow space for announcements from Alliance members on new commitments or initiatives. Finally, it will provide a forum for networking and discussion between high-level Alliance members.

The event will be co-hosted by the Presidents of Portugal and Kenya – both of whom are founding Patrons of the Alliance – and the Director-General of UNESCO.
