The side-event takes place on the margin of the 35th session of the Chairs of treaty bodies. Its objective is to promote universal ratification of the core human rights treaties and their optional protocols by: - Facilitating the exchange of experiences among SIDS and LDCs on the ratification of human rights treaties and the implementation of treaty obligations; - Highlighting the link between the promotion of universal ratification of the human rights treaties in SIDS and LDCs and the treaty body strengthening process.
