Security Council Meets on Situation Concerning Democratic Republic of Congo
Zénon Mukongo Ngay, Permanent Representative of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the United Nations, addresses the Security Council meeting on the situation concerning the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The Council adopted a Statement by the President in which it expressed "its readiness to decide by the end of 2023 on the future of MONUSCO [The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo], its gradual, responsible and sustainable withdrawal and the concrete and realistic steps to be undertaken, as a matter of priority to implement this withdrawal."
