The Council voted on a draft resolution on the situation in the Middle East. The resolution, submitted by Brazil, called for "humanitarian pauses" to deliver lifesaving aid to millions in Gaza. The resolution received 12 votes in favour, 2 abstentions (Russian Federation, United Kingdom), and 1 vote against (United States). The Resolution was not adopted due to a veto by the United States.
