Security Council Extends Mandate of UNSOM

Mohamed Rabi A. Yusuf, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the United Nations, addresses the Security Council meeting on the situation in Somalia.

Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 2705 (2023) extending, until 31 October 2024, mandate and tasks of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) as set out in resolution 2158 (2014) and resolution 2592 (2021).
