Secretary-General Attends AI Safety Summit in United Kingdom

Secretary-General António Guterres (second from right at table) attends the first global AI Safety Summit held in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom.

"The principles for AI governance should be based on the United Nations Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights," said the Secretary-General.

The first Global Summit on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Safety focused on how to best manage the risks from the most recent advances in Artificial Intelligence and how they can be mitigated through internationally coordinated action. The Summit was hosted by the Government of the United Kingdom.
