Security Council Meets on Situation in Central African Republic

Marius Aristide Hoja Nzessioue, Counsellor of the Permanent Mission of the Central African Republic to the United Nations, addresses the Security Council meeting on the situation in the Central African Republic.

The Security Council adopted resolution 2709 (2023) extending the mandate of United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) until 15 November 2024. The resolution was adopted with 14 votes in favour, none against and one abstention (Russian Federation).
