Security Council Terminates Mandate of UNITAMS

José Javier De la Gasca LopezDomínguez, Permanent Representative of Ecuador to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for the month of December, chairs Security Council meeting on the situation in the Sudan and South Sudan.
The Council adopted resolution 2715 (2023) deciding to terminate the mandate of United Nations Integrated Transition Assistance Mission In Sudan (UNITAMS) under resolution 2579 (2021), as of 3 December 2023. The resolution was adopted with 14 votes in favour, and 1 abstention (Russian Federation).
