Roundtable on Perspectives on UN Security Council Reforms from Global South Think Tanks

Dennis Francis (third from left on dais), President of the seventy-eighth session of the General Assembly, delivers remarks at a roundtable entitled "Perspectives on UN Security Council Reforms from Global South Think Tanks".

The proposition for reform discussed in the event comes from the L.69 Group of Developing Countries from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific Small Island Developing States (PSIDS) which has pressed for reforming the UN Security Council to better reflect contemporary geopolitical realities and to enhance its legitimacy, effectiveness, and implementation of its decisions. The event was organized by the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations.
