Security Council Holds Emergency Meeting on Reported Attacks on Belgorod, Russia

José Javier De La Gasca, Permanent Representative of Ecuador to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for the month of December, chairs the Security Council meeting on threats to international peace and security.

At least 18 civilians were killed and more than 100 injured in an attack on Belgorod, said Mohamed Khaled Khiari, Assistant Secretary-General for the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific, briefing the Council on the latest developments.
